Once a wagon driver agreed to take a Rabbi on a trip. Several hours into their journey, the wagon driver turned to the Rabbi and said, "My horse is tired and hungry. If you don't mind, I will just let him feed in a nearby field. But please, if you see that the farmer is watching, warn me!"
The Rabbi agreed. The driver unharnessed his horse and led him into the field. But as soon as he reached the farmer's property, the Rabbi shouted, "He sees! He sees!"
The driver quickly pulled his horse away from the pasture and hitched him up to the wagon. Then he drove the wagon as fast as he could down the road.
When the field was out of sight, the driver slowed the wagon down. He turned to the Rabbi and said, "You know, I didn't see any farmer standing there. Are you sure he saw us?"
The Rabbi answered, "I wasn't talking about the farmer. When I yelled, 'He sees! He sees!' I was talking about G-d!"
