Rebbetin Riddle Says...

Lag B'Omer is Coming!
Do You Know the 15 Parts of the Seder Meal?Sea for Yourself!

Lag B'Omer means the 33rd day of the Omer period. It occurs on the 18th of Iyar. On this day, almost 2,000 years ago, Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai passed away. He is known as the RASHBI, after the first letters of his name.

Rabbi Shimon revealed the Holy Zohar, the mystical part of Torah. In fact, his entire life was dedicated to the Torah. One time when the Jewish people needed rain, they came to him. Rabbi Shimon said a verse of Torah and the rain fell automatically! He didn't even have to pray for it.

Before he died, Rabbi Shimon told his students that the day of his passing would not be a sad time. Instead, his students should be happy and rejoice because their teacher is going to be with G-d. Ever since on Lag B'Omer, people have journeyed to Rabbi Shimon's resting place in Meron, Israel, to study Torah, pray and dance.
