Rabbi Riddle Says...
National Committee for Furtherance of Jewish Education

To Your Health!
Bless My Soul, O Children of Abraham!Actions Speak Louder Than Words!
In this week's Parsha, Vayeira, G-d appeared to Abraham three days after his circumcision, when he felt the most pain. From this we learn that there is a mitzvah of Bikur Cholim, visiting the sick.

  • The Talmud says that a person who visits the sick removes 1/60th of the illness.

  • Besides visiting the sick, you should pray for them and give charity for them, too.

  • When Moses's sister Miriam was sick, the Israelites waited for her to get better before traveling to Israel.

Rabbi Riddle's Kwazy Kwestions:
  1. What's funny about being sick?
  1. Nothing!

Bless My Soul, O Children of Abraham!Actions Speak Louder Than Words!
