Minhag Yisrael Torah He!
  Be Prepared!Give Peace A Chance
Our Sages say: "Minhag Yisrael Torah He," a Jewish custom is also part of the Torah. Here are some customs we follow on Shavous!

  • To show G-d how much we love the Torah, we stay up all night in the synagogue and study.

  • Our Sages say that the Ten Commandments hint to all 613 mitzvos we should perform. To show respect for the Ten Commandments, we stand when they are read in the Torah.

  • The Torah is compared to milk and honey, so on Shavuos, we eat dairy foods.
