Be Prepared!
  R-E-S-P-E-C-TMinhag Yisrael Torah He!
Throughout the world, Jews are preparing for Shavuos, the holiday that celebrates the Giving of the Torah. Here are some Shavuos fun facts:

  • The Jewish nation camped at Mount Sinai as "one man and one heart." In the merit of their love and respect for each other, they received the Torah.

  • When G-d gave the Ten Commandments, no creature made noise and there was no echo. This teaches us that everything on earth absorbed G-d's words. Our job is to uncover the holiness that already exists in the world. We do that by learning Torah and fulfilling the Mitzvos!

  • Shavuos is also known as Yom HaBikurim, the Day of the First Fruits. Farmers would bring their finest produce to the Holy Temple to thank G-d for all His blessings.
